After every injury, Nisha Dahiya was troubled by the same question – why does this happen to me only? When everything seemed to be going well, why did the body not cooperate? Why was he disappointed in the tournament in which he was expected to perform well? Nisha has now learned to accept failures with ease and has stopped complaining about the injuries that have repeatedly hampered her career.

After her medal dream was shattered due to injury in Paris Olympics, Nisha has learned that she can control her work and not the result. With this change in mindset, Nisha is now going to enter the Asian Games. She will challenge in the women's 68 kg category. Nisha believes that when she steps on the mat, she will just focus on giving her best.

Whatever is in your destiny, you will get it – Nisha

Nisha told PTI, 'Earlier I used to feel that God was being unfair to me. I used to wonder why this is happening to me again and again but now I don't think like that.

She further said, 'Now I have understood that I will get what is written in my destiny. I will just focus on my work, work hard and wrestle well. I will focus on performing my best.

Even after getting the lead, Nisha kept missing the medal.

Nisha's career has often been full of expectations but the results have not been as per her expectations. Despite having a 4-0 lead against Linda Moraes in the World Championship 2022, she had to face defeat in the bronze medal match. After this, due to injury, she stayed away from the game for several months.

There was every possibility of Nisha winning a medal in Paris Olympics 2024. In the quarter-finals, she was leading 8–1 against Pak Sol Gum of North Korea but she sprained her finger and injured her shoulder, losing 8–10 in the end.

Nisha said, 'The result is not in our hands. Everyone wants to win. Sometimes the competition is favorable and sometimes you come under pressure. I was performing well in Paris but then I got injured. Injury is not under anyone's control.

He further said, 'When you are practicing well, everything goes smoothly. Then the injury ruins everything and you can't train properly for the next six months. You get mentally broken to a great extent. I would then ask God why he was doing this to me. Now he has stopped complaining and living in the past.

Nisha's focus is on the next Olympics

Nisha said, 'If you remain lost in the past, you will not be able to move forward. You have to move further. I want to play in the Los Angeles Olympics, I want to win a medal. If I want to get there, I have to leave the little things behind.

Nisha believes her biggest strengths are her aggressive play and her confidence but working with WFI-appointed two-time Olympic medalist Japanese coach Kosei Akaishi has added another dimension to her skills.

He said, 'Their wrestling is a little different from Indian wrestling. He has fast pace and precise techniques. Their way of thinking is different. They have some techniques that are new to us and have helped us a lot. It's definitely helping me become a better wrestler.
