Ambala: Haryana food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department has enabled the facility for issuing arrival gate passes for paddy through the e-Kharid portal ahead of the commencement of paddy procurement for Kharif Marketing Season (km) 2026-27.




In a communication issued on Saturday to Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board , the department said agriculture and farmers welfare department had supplied crop production and area data for paddy for km 2026-27, following which the facility for issuing arrival gate passes through the e-Kharid Portal was enabled.




The department, however, clarified that auction of paddy would be taken up only after Govt of India approves commencement of procurement for km 2026-27. Market Committee secretaries have been directed to ensure that gate passes are issued through the e-Kharid Portal for paddy brought by farmers/persons to mandis and purchase centres .




At the time of entry, officials have also been asked to ensure proper capture of the vehicle photograph, vehicle registration number and details of the farmer/person bringing the foodgrain for sale. The instructions have been circulated to all District Food and Supplies Controllers for necessary action. Meanwhile, agriculture & farmers welfare department has prepared district-wise average yield data for non-Basmati paddy for procurement purposes. The figures are based on Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) conducted over the last three years and have been supplied to Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.




According to the annexure, the three-year average yield varies considerably across districts. The average yield in terms of paddy is recorded at 6,486.67 kg per hectare (26.26 quintals per acre) in Ambala, 6,991.88 kg/ha (28.31 quintals/acre) in Fatehabad, 6,236.73 kg/ha (25.25 quintals/acre) in Karnal, 6,306.04 kg/ha (25.53 quintals/acre) in Panipat and 6,850.44 kg/ha (27.73 quintals/acre) in Yamunanagar.




The department has specifically noted that the average-yield calculations are based on non-Basmati varieties.




The latest instructions effectively allow the recording and regulated entry of paddy arrivals at mandis before the formal start of procurement, while actual auction/procurement remains subject to the requisite approval from the Centre.
