Vadodara: City-based Parul University (PU) has made its debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings-2027, securing a place in the 1,601-1,800 global band.




According to the university, PU is the only institution from Gujarat to feature in this year’s global rankings.




The latest recognition follows the university’s growing presence in THE’s sustainability-focused rankings. PU first entered the THE Impact Rankings 2025 , where it was placed in the 1,001-1,500 global band and among the top 50 institutions in India. The Impact Rankings evaluate universities based on their contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).




In the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 , PU advanced to the 401-600 global band and ranked among the top 40 institutions in India. The university secured the 46th position globally and seventh in India for SDG 4 (quality education), while it ranked 60th globally and sixth nationally for SDG 5 (gender equality).




Under SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), PU was placed in the 101–200 global band and among the top 10 institutions in India.




The university also featured in the 401-600 global band and top 50 in India for SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure). Under SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals), it was placed in the 201-300 global band and among the top 20 institutions in India.




The university said its latest achievement marks a significant transition—from recognition primarily for its sustainability initiatives and contributions to the SDGs to a broader assessment of its standing in the global higher education landscape.




Dr Geetika Madan Patel , vice-president of Parul University, described the debut as a significant milestone for the institution. She said the university would continue to strengthen its focus on academic excellence and societal impact, while expanding research collaborations and international engagement.
