Controversy is increasing regarding Daler Mehndi's viral video. Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal had accused him of coming on stage drunk and not being able to sing properly. Now actor Rajpal Yadav has supported Daler Mehndi while criticizing the attitude of the minister.

A video of the Kunjapuri fair organized in Narendranagar in Tehri district of Uttarakhand had gone viral recently, in which Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal was seen reprimanding Daler Mehndi on the stage. The minister had alleged that Daler Mehndi reached the program drunk and was not able to sing properly. He had also said that it is not right to perform after drinking alcohol in a religious event.

Now actor Rajpal Yadav has supported Daler Mehndi in this matter. He criticized the minister's behavior by sharing a video on his Instagram account. Rajpal Yadav said that it is indecent and condemnable for a respected minister to behave like this with a veteran singer who has been entertaining people with his voice for decades in front of thousands of people. Referring to the examples to the assault of the minister, he said that such behavior does not suit him.

Rajpal Yadav said in his video, “Being an art student, I want to share one thing with you. The manner in which a respected minister was behaving in front of thousands of people, a legend singer whose voice has served everyone in the country and the world for decades, with such indecent, condemnable words and giving examples of assault. Honorable Minister, this does not suit you.”

He further said that it seemed as if the art itself had been bought, whereas art can never be bought. Rajpal Yadav said that art is a life and it should be respected. Regarding Daler Mehndi's health, he told that he has worked with him in the film 'Welcome to the Jungle' and his health is not good. According to Rajpal, efforts are being made for his speedy recovery.

Claiming that Daler Mehndi does not drink alcohol, Rajpal Yadav said, “Positions come and go, but stature always remains.” He said that art has been around for thousands of years and everyone should respect it.

Earlier, Daler Mehndi's brother Mika Singh had also supported him and claimed that Daler Mehndi does not drink alcohol and his health is bad. Comedian Kapil Sharma also spoke on the issue, while actor Anupam Kher also came out in support of Daler Mehndi. Discussion is also going on on social media regarding the matter.

During the program, Minister Subodh Uniyal reached the stage and interrupted the singer and accused him of singing under the influence of alcohol.
