Tejasvi Surya, a member of parliament and national president of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Bengaluru, recounted moving accounts of the families impacted by the Pahalgam terror assault, with whom he flew on the same aircraft that transported the bodies.

After paying their respects, Surya told reporters at the Bengaluru International Airport how Manjunath Rao’s widow, Pallavi, insisted on keeping his bloodstained jacket to preserve her husband’s memory after he was shot dead in front of her.

He also showed the touching scenario with Bharat Bhushan’s three-year-old kid, another victim. The toddler was seen playing with a cell phone and pointing out aeroplanes to his mother through the window, oblivious to the death of his father.

“Three Karnataka residents were mercilessly killed in the Pahalgam terror incident. We made sure that the surviving family members and the lifeless remains arrived in Bengaluru securely by working with the state administration, local authorities, and the Union Home Ministry,” Surya said.

“I went to Bengaluru with the folks from Srinagar myself. We paid our last respects to the victims with a sorrowful heart once the procedures of transferring the deceased bodies were finished at the airport,” he stated.

This has been one of the most savage and despicable assaults in recent memory. The aeroplane that brought his father’s remains also carried Bharat Bhushan’s three-year-old son, who was too young to understand death. The youngster was showing his recently bereaved mother the aeroplanes outside the window with excitement. She gave him a cell phone to play games on in order to comfort him.

“Abhi, the son of Manjunath Rao, recently finished his Class 12 board exams and received a score of 96%,” Surya said. In addition to being their first family vacation, this was the first time they had all taken a plane trip. According to him, this excursion ended up being his father’s first and final flight.

“Manjunath’s wife, Pallavi, displayed tremendous strength,” he said. Because it had her husband’s last memories, she refused to clean the blood-stained jacket she wore.

Another family protected older relatives from receiving the heartbreaking news right away, according to Surya. He said that the terrorists committed such heinous crimes on families like these—regular, defenceless citizens.

“A number of initial measures in response have already been announced by the Government of India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modiji,” he said.

“We stand in full solidarity with the Government of India and the bereaved families at this time,” Surya said.

He stressed that the Indian Army and other relevant agencies are very competent and would react to the assault at their own time and in a language that the adversary can comprehend.

It is our duty as citizens of our nation to fully trust our national leadership as well as the skill and prowess of our military. “We have to support them in whatever they do,” he said.

“The Indian Army, the Government of India, and all agencies involved will respond appropriately to this act of terror,” he said.
