Yograj Singh Podcast: In addition to his extraordinary skill, Yuvraj Singh’s reputation as one of India’s best middle-order hitters is inscribed in cricket history for his steadfast devotion to both the game and his nation. Despite fighting an undetected disease, his valiant efforts in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup continue to be among cricket’s most inspirational stories. Yuvraj deservedly won Player of the Series for his crucial contributions to India’s victory.

The cricket community was surprised to learn that he had a rare germ cell cancer after the competition. Despite his valiant comeback to the pitch after treatment, his Indian team career never quite recovered its former splendor.

In an emotional podcast, Yuvraj Singh’s father said that even if Yuvraj had given his life for India during the World Cup, he would have been pleased.

“I would have been a proud father to our nation if Yuvraj Singh had won the World Cup and passed away from cancer. I still have a lot of pride in him. I’ve also told him this on the phone. Even though he had spat blood, I still wanted him to play. “Don’t worry, you won’t die,” I assured him. “India should win this World Cup,” Yograj said on the Unfiltered by Samdish program.

Yograj said that his kid would have been “great” if he had put in even 10% of his father’s labor.

“Yuvraj Singh, if he had worked even 10 percent like his father, he would have become a great cricketer,” Yograj said.

Yuvraj played a pivotal part in India’s World Cup-winning campaign in 2011, smashing 362 runs at an average of 90.50 and a strike-rate of 86.19. After recuperating from lung cancer, he made a few appearances for India in the next years until retiring in 2019.
