With his handsome looks and brooding personality, was known as Boyzone's quiet one. In the 90s, his face was plastered all over the walls of teenagers' bedrooms as a member of the Irish group, who went on to become one of the most successful boy bands of all time selling over 25 million records worldwide.

With the release of tell-all documentary Boyzone: No Matter What, some fans may be asking, where is Mikey Graham now? While Mikey does appear in the documentary alongside the other surviving members of the band; , Keith Duffy, and Shane Lynch, he skipped a recent promotional event and didn't attend a reunion with other band members.

The band's line-up also included Stephen Gately who died in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition aged just 33.

In the candid documentary, there's also an appearance by manager , who managed several big Irish pop acts and became a judge on the X-Factor.

So, what does Mikey say about his time in the band, and what is he doing now?

Boyzone: No Matter What documentary

Boyzone: No Matter What sheds some light onto why Mikey didn't want to participate in a band reunion. He reveals that when he was added to the band, he was a little older and more experienced than the other members, so expected to be a lead singer. But he was left disappointed when Ronan and Stephen became the frontmen of Boyzone.

Speaking candidly, Mikey says: "I was upset about it at the time, I tried to convey that but it fell upon deaf ears". He often felt overlooked in the band, saying: "Remember, I was 21. As a kid that was tough, and Louis went from one day speaking with me to never speaking with me for seven years and I never knew why, I had absolutely no idea why. I just thought he didn’t like me". Louis, however, claims he thought Mikey was "happy being the quiet one at the back".

Mikey reveals that he has struggled with depression and anxiety through the years, as well as using alcohol to "get him through the years" during his Boyzone days.

While the band broke up in 2000, they reunited in 2007 and had a 25th anniversary tour in 2017. The documentary reveals that during a 2019 tour, things came to a head, with constant arguments, the worst of which being between Mikey and Keith. "There were things that happened that were cruel", he admits, without elaborating on the cause of the row.

He goes on to say: "We left Japan, some of us not talking with each other and yet we still had to do the final five nights in the (London) Palladium. I just wanted to get out of there. Get away from that toxic environment. I haven’t seen anybody since that night. That’s when I began to understand that I needed to make some changes."

Why didn't Mikey Graham go to the reunion?

Since the 2019 tour, Mikey has refused any further reunions with his Boyzone bandmates, although in the documentary he says he wishes them well: "I wish them all the best, no grudges, no animosity, nothing. However, I don't want to go back to how I felt for many years. To see them, if it were for too long, would remind me of that."

The closing scenes of the documentary show Ronan, Keith and Shane reuniting in a pub, sharing memories over pints of Guinness, but Mikey is noticeably absent. The band members talk about how Mikey was perhaps not suited to the boyband lifestyle, with Shane saying: "He's quite the recluse... I've not spoken to Mike for four years, I think there's an element of this industry that damaged him."

What is Mikey Graham doing now?

After Boyzone's first split, Mikey moved into acting. He trained in the USA and went on to make appearances in a couple of low budget cult moves. He was then on in 2010, paired off with professional skater Melanie Lambert. He described taking part in the show as therapeutic, helping him after the shock of bandmate Stephen's death.

Mikey released a solo album called Meet Me Halfway in 2001. While his first single, You're My Angel, reached 13 in the UK singles chart, the following two singles didn't do well. Mikey went on to make a bid to represent Ireland in Eurovision in 2010, with a song called Baby, Nothing's Wrong. He missed out on the spot which went to singer Niamh Kavanagh who'd won the contest in 1993. Mikey also took part in Ireland’s Celebrity Apprentice in 2013.

But true to his reputation as 'the quiet one', Mikey now lives his life away from the spotlight. He lives in rural Ireland, and only occasionally posts on social media. He is still involved in the music industry and currently works as a songwriter.

Is Mikey Graham married and does he have children?

Mikey was married to Karen Corradi for 20 years. The pair met when she was a dancer on a Boyzone tour, and the pair have a daughter together. They announced their split last year, with Mikey saying on X "I’m very badly wounded at this point, but I won’t give up on love".

He also has another daughter with ex-partner Sharon Keane. Hannah, 27, has a three year old daughter, meaning Mikey is a grandad.
