Beyond Paradise star Kris Marshall has shared his favourite filming locations in Cornwall.

The Death in Paradise spin-off focuses on Kris's character DI Humphrey Goodman, who leaves Saint Marie to be with his love interest Martha Lloyd, portrayed by Sally Bretton.

After their engagement, they relocate to Shipton Abbot, where Humphrey and his partner DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi) tackle a range of peculiar crimes.

They are joined by PC Kelby Hartford (Dylan Llewellyn) and office support worker Margo Martins (Felicity Montagu), who bring a fresh perspective to local policing.

The successful drama is currently airing its third season on BBC One. It features Humphrey and Martha navigating the challenges of fostering, while Esther embarks on a new romantic journey, reports .

In a conversation with the BBC about the latest series, Kris expressed his enjoyment of filming the crime drama, especially when it takes him to the coast.

"I'm a big fan of getting my 'vitamin sea' - whether it's surfing or swimming, being by the water makes me happy. One of my favourite filming locations is Rame Head in Cornwall," he revealed.

"It offers stunning views and has a fascinating abandoned military site, complete with old tanks and artillery steps. It's a great stop for filming and after work you can head to a secret cove for a swim."

Kris continued: "Another favourite is Mothecombe Beach, which is a secluded spot only accessible on foot. We sometimes film there at night, and the little bathing house on the rocks makes for a perfect green room.

"It's a cosy spot with a wood burner and is the perfect place to relax between takes. If we could do an episode that involves surfing, I'd love to head to the North Coast of Cornwall, where the surf is more consistent."

In tonight's (April 11) nail-biting episode, viewers will witness three customers collapse after sampling confectionary at a local chocolate shop.

Humphrey and Esther are then thrust into a perplexing case to determine whether the chocolatier was to blame or if she was being framed by someone else.

"The mystery deepens as the team finds no trace of poison in the remaining chocolates and wonder how the perpetrator ensured the victims ate the right one," the official synopsis continues.

"With public panic spreading across Shipton Abbott, the officers must work swiftly to uncover the culprit."

Alongside the regular cast, the episode's guest stars include Chizzy Akudolu, Brandon Fellows, Alicia Charles, Holly Atkins, Matthew Gravelle, Abdul Salis, Bebe Sanders, Lauren Vandike and Syreeta Kumar.
